1. I have never taken dance classes can I come to any of the dance classes?
Most of Manly Dance classes are open so all levels can come to them. Intermediate classes are available for some classes for those who have danced before. Check the timetable to see which classes are open, beginner or intermediate.
2. What do I need to wear?
Normal gym clothing is suitable for most classes (i.e. hip hop, ballet, jazz, afro moves and grooves). Ballet shoes are preferable for ballet classes. For salsa and Argentine Tango it is recommended that ladies wear a short healed shoe with non-rubberised sole. For men, everyday shoes with a non rubberised sole are better than sports shoes. Ballroom shoes are recommended. Male and female dance shoes are available to purchase at the studio.
For pole dancing the only essential clothing are shorts to allow your legs to grip the pole. Most people start barefoot, but some choose to wear heels as they progress. The most important point is that you should not apply moisturiser on the day of your class, otherwise you will not be able to grip the pole. If you have worn suncream or moisturiser on the day of your class make sure you wash it off before coming to the studio. 3. Can I pay casually or do I need to pay for a term?
For most classes you can pay casually or you can buy a 10 class pass to save $20. For pole dancing and salsa courses we require payment upfront. 10 Class Passes are valid for all classes, except courses and pole dancing classes.
4. How long is a 10 class pass valid for?
10 class passes are valid for 3 months from date of purchase. Buy 10 class passes here to save $20 on 10 dance classes.
5. Can me and a friend share a pass?
10 class passes are only valid for one person and cannot be shared. The passes are non-transferable and non-refundabale.
6. I want to book in for a course but I know I will miss a week?
If you are going to miss one week of a course, it is possible to have one make up class, either during the course or afterwards. You will be required to pay the full amount of the course and will be given a credit for a missed class if you need one.
